Defined As: Youth Development Professionals mentor, supervise, and positively motivate youth. The majority of responsibility is working directly with youth, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development through programs designed by BGCA and other programs, and may also provide support in other areas as assigned.


Under The Direction Of The Site Director, Responsibilities and Duties Include:


· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and willingness to uphold BGCKP safety policies, including but not limited to the Parent/Member Handbook, Operating Policies for the Protection of Youth, and Emergency Operations Plan


· Present a “unified front†with the Site Director as a positive role model to other staff and members, including but not limited to communicating the objectives, standards, and program of the BGCKP


· Ensure all expectations, as assigned, are met for grant funding requirements


· Promote, inspire, and encourage members to participate in the program


· I am aware of and able to lead various program activities in all program areas


· Attend Staff meetings and Club events as assigned


· Maintain a consistent, positive, warm, and friendly demeanor


· Maintains an organized and clean program area


· Submits timely and accurate program plans


· Other duties as assigned.


Education and Certifications:


· High School Diploma or Equivalent


· CPR & First-Aid Certification (or ability to acquire upon hire)


· Food Worker Card (or ability to acquire upon hire)


· Must be able to pass a Background Check


Physical Requirements/Work Environment:


Physical requirements include but are not limited to physical exertion such as lifting, stretching, and bending in a school/club setting. They can consist of sitting and standing for long periods. This will include walking, guiding, and escorting children to and from areas and field trips. It will require interaction with youth 5-18 and can sometimes be noisy. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Ability to work and adapt to varied weather conditions. Must be able to perform First Aid/CPR on members at the ground level. Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely monitor and respond to members, co-workers, and outside community members.
