NOTICE OF OPENING
The Board of Education of Middlesex County Magnet Schools is currently accepting applications for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. Salary will be based on the Junior Varsity/Assistant Varsity Basketball Coaches salary guide in effect for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is appointed on an annual basis.
The Junior Varsity Coach will have full responsibility for the Junior Varsity level team, as well as assisting the Varsity Coach with such athletic team activities as practice, travel, and attendance at home and away games. Compensation will be based on the Teacher’s Agreement with the Board of Education.
If a Junior Varsity team cannot be fielded within ten (10) days of the first official practice, the position will not be filled.
Be the holder of a New Jersey State Teacher’s Certificate and/or a County Substitute’s Certificate, have a knowledgeable background of the sport as a player or coach in college or in high school, three years of sub-varsity coaching preferred, and a successful background in working with young people in a related sports field. Coaches will be certified in CPR/AED and Sports First Aid and must register for the NFHS Coaching Principles Course, if new to the profession, within 120 days of employment. The candidate must have completed the “A Guide to Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention†course as well as the “Concussion in Sports - What you need to Know.†Certifications need to be completed before the first day of the season.
Appointment is at the discretion of the Board of Education.
