General Description:


The Junior Accountant is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks to support the financial health of the company. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role involves processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with key accounting procedures. The ideal candidate will use their accounting experience to manage purchase orders, handle accounts payable and receivable, and contribute to the accuracy of financial data in a fast-paced industrial setting.


Reports To: Chief Financial Officer


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, match them to purchase orders and receiving documents, and prepare payments in a timely manner.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and issue customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and apply cash receipts to the correct accounts.
  • General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries, perform data entry, and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure the general ledger is accurate.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure all financial data is consistent and accurate.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, audit schedules, and other support documentation for the CFO.
  • Job Costing & Inventory: Provide support for job costing analysis and assist in the tracking of inventory and material costs, which is particularly relevant in a manufacturing environment.
  • Compliance & Audit: Assist with internal and external audits and ensure all accounting processes adhere to company policies and standard accounting principles.

  • Teamwork: The ability to collaborate effectively with the CFO and other departments to achieve company goals.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and Experience


Experience: 2 years of accounting experience (Required).


Preferred: Industrial manufacturing experience.
