Job Title: IT Systems Engineer ($70,000-$100,000)

Job Overview


As an IT Systems Engineer at CBIT, you will be a key player in delivering top-tier support for a wide range of technologies. You’ll work across our entire service portfolio, from managing and troubleshooting Windows based IT environments to supporting our proprietary VoIP infrastructure and Internet services. You will get hands-on experience with systems, networks, firewalls, and cloud services, ensuring seamless service delivery to our business clients.


This is a dynamic role for someone enthusiastic about technology and passionate about providing exceptional customer service. You will handle both routine tasks and complex troubleshooting, ensuring that our clients receive uninterrupted, topnotch service.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Windows based Network Administration: Manage and maintain workstations and servers in Windows environments.
  • Windows Server Expertise: Configure, troubleshoot, and support Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Active Directory & Group Policy: Design, implement, and manage Active Directory and Group Policy settings.
  • Network Management: Advanced firewall, routing, and switching knowledge. Experience with VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and SMTP.
  • Documentation: Keep all documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Ticket Management: Handle assigned tickets from start to finish, ensuring detailed documentation and clear ticket titles.
  • Cloud Services: Work with Microsoft O365, Azure, and other cloud platforms.
  • Software Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve a wide variety of software related issues.
  • Microsoft Hyper-V: Configure, support, and manage virtual environments using Hyper-V.
  • Server Hardware: Design, configure, and support server hardware, including RAID setups.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement local and cloud-based backup solutions, ensuring strong disaster recovery protocols.
  • Endpoint Security: Manage and monitor endpoint security solutions.
  • VPN Configuration: Configure and troubleshoot client, site-to-site, and multisite VPNs.
  • WiFi Management: Manage and troubleshoot wireless networks for business environments.
  • VoIP Systems: Support, troubleshoot, and maintain our VoIP infrastructure, including both customer and provider sides.
  • Data Center & ISP Networks: Support data center operations and work with wholesale providers for ISP networks, including BGP and IP routing.
  • On-call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation (currently 1 week every 5 weeks).
  • Helpdesk Support: Provide remote and onsite helpdesk support at all levels (L1, L2, L3).
  • Project Support: Assist in IT projects for customers and internal operations.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications


  • 3+ years of directly related experience, or a combination of higher education and hands-on experience.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in Windows-only environments and business IT services.
  • Familiarity with VoIP services and ISP networks is a significant plus.
  • Experience with IT systems supporting business clients.
