IT ManagerLeadership and Service To Others - Teamwork - Growth Mindset - Have FunThe IT Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all technology-related activities in the bank. This includes showing leadership, management, and accountability for the IT staff, managing IT infrastructure, maintaining system security, supporting end users, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing new technologies aligned with the banks’ strategic goals. The IT Manager ensures the integrity, reliability, and security of all information systems and supports daily operations and long-term goals.

This role is also responsible for assisting the bank, to the best of the employees’ abilities, in complying with applicable state and federal banking rules and regulations as they pertain to this position including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act. Must embrace and uphold the bank’s Code of Conduct, Core Values, and Service Standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Infrastructure and Operations:


  • Manage the bank�s hardware, software, networks, and data systems while supervising these functions, and helping as backup.
  • Oversee daily IT operations including help desk, network performance, system uptime, business applications, and workstations.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including core banking system providers.


Security and Compliance:


  • Ensure IT systems and vendors meet FFIEC, FDIC, GLBA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and IT policy reviews.


Strategic Planning and Project Management:


  • Participate in the strategic planning process, chair IT steering committee, and align IT initiatives with business goals.
  • Lead or coordinate IT related projects such as system upgrades, software implementations, and integrations.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency, security, and customer service.


User Support and Training:


  • Provide backup and support for network administration, systems administration, and help desk administration.
  • Train users on bank systems, security protocols, and new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation and user guides.


Budget and Asset Management:


  • Prepare and manage the IT department budget.
  • Oversee inventory of technology assets and software licenses.


Miscellaneous: Assist and support other bank functions outside the normal scope of duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the organization.


Supervisory: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees (may oversee the training or participate directly); planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures compliance with established procedures and practices.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor�s degree required preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, preferably in banking or financial services environment
  • 2+ years in a management or supervisory role


Certifications (Preferred but not required):


  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or similar
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Banking Security Manager (CBSM) or similar


Required Skills & Abilities:


  • Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of banking systems and regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC, GLBA).
  • Computer Skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work with many applications and software programs.
  • Knowledge of network management, cybersecurity and data protection best practices.
  • Experience with core banking platforms (e.g., Jack Henry, Fiserv, CSI, or similar).


Physical Demands:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.


Work Environment:


  • Standard office environment.
  • On-call availability during off-hours as needed for critical issues or updates.
  • Travel to branch locations may be required.
