Job purpose


Directly support the warfighter and interagency collaboration in building strategic approaches in protecting the homeland. Provide academic support services to IWC functional networks and students in the fields of national security, international affairs, international relations, and irregular warfare


Duties and responsibilities


  • Develop tailored operational and strategic level IW curriculum for DoD, US interagency, partners, and Allies to fill critical IW education and training gaps that IWC SMEs identify through assessments of current IW curriculum, educational shortfalls, lessons learned, and operational requirements to successfully address emerging and future threat trends.
  • Teach and evaluate TILT-C up to the TS/SCI//ACCM level with appropriately cleared USG agencies, and up to NATO Secret with key Allies and partners as required.
  • Develop advanced modules for participants who show significant understanding of the TILT-C basics.
  • Provide course materials and prep work to the participants as necessary.
  • Provide this IW curriculum to DoD, Interagency, and Allies and Partners in support of IWC�s objectives through SME lead engagements both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Provide POI and maintain updates to course curriculum as required, tracking the development and evaluation of instructors and students.
  • Coordinate and execute all engagements with support from the IWC Event Manger, securing all contracts, travel, and budgeting in accordance with government regulations. Special emphasis on international students to support both travel and contract support in accordance with government regulations.
  • Teach and evaluate NRAC up to the TS/SCI//ACCM level with appropriately cleared USG agencies, and up to NATO Secret with key Allies as required.
  • Support the West Virginia National Guard�s �Ridge Runner Exercise†per IWC Director�s guidance.

+ Lead and/or develop educational programs.

+ Run courses when needed.

+ Coordinate DV events as they are scheduled.

  • Develop advanced modules for participants who show significant understanding of the NRAC basics.
  • Provide POI and maintain updates to course curriculum as required, tracking the development and evaluation of instructors and students.
  • Develop and/or update courses as required.
  • Develop and mentor other instructors as needed.
  • Coordinate and execute all engagements with support from Event Manager, securing all contracts, travel, and budgeting in accordance with government regulations. Special emphasis on international students to support both travel and contract support in accordance with government travel regulations.
  • Teach and evaluate CDAC up to the NATO Secret level to our Allies and Partners as required.
  • Support IWC events as senior panelists, guest speakers, and representatives, and facilitate senior discussions as requested.
  • Support the development of an IW academic schedule of CONUS and OCONUS activities for the calendar year.
  • Translate, analyze, and publish on the IWC website publicly to make available adversary documents of operational and strategic importance.
  • Assist the Government in the development of curriculum to effectively address gaps in IW training and education to enhance warfighter lethality, knowledge between DOD, the USG, international partners, industry, academia, and review the course curriculum content for quality and content and approve the coursework for execution.
  • Conduct engagements with the IW community of interest and continue to grow the community.
  • Assist the Government in providing senior training and curriculum development to effectively translate known gaps in IW education and training into the IWC-specific and sponsored curriculum.
  • Review research products and reports for quality and content and approve the products for distribution.
  • Manage, prioritize, and resource the Strategic Futures and Research of the IWC.
  • Leverage AI/ML technology and �big data†to increase the analytical capacity and rigor of IW analysis.
  • Lecture and facilitate seminar instruction, organize academic events, advise students and fellows, and design and conduct research on topics centered largely on the politics and U.S. strategic relations related to the Europe, South America, Middle East, North Africa, Africa, East and South Asia, the Pacific, Northern Hemisphere, and Defense of the Homeland with a specialization on national security strategy decision making, post conflict reconstruction and stabilization, and strategic dialogues. This position supports Centers� academic programs oriented to the warfighter, national security practitioners, and international participants from around the world involving U.S. and foreign officials, non-Governmental expert speakers, and various visitors.


Qualifications


  • 10 years of experience in IW or similar instruction


Education


  • PhD degree in International Affairs, International Relations, or another field of study relevant to the course offerings.
