Overview:
Under general supervision, performs manual and clerical duties related to the receipt of materials, supplies, equipment, and returned products. (This includes Government classified material and products.) Assists in the packaging of finished goods, as time permits.
Responsibilities:
- Receives and unpacks raw materials
- Responsible for receipt of incoming material; transports material as necessary within the facility. Works with equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts carts, cranes, and hoists.
- Unloads LTL shipments.
- Checks goods against bills of lading, packing slips, etc.
- Maintains an accurate tube inventory for all incoming assets.
- Verifies nomenclature, identification, and quantity of goods
- Maintains records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess, or misdirected goods
- Routes material to inspection, stores, or other destinations
- Process returns to vendors
- Enters/ retrieves data from computerized purchasing system.
- Back up for Shipping department and Stockroom
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Basic communication skills and numeric ability.
- Working knowledge of purchasing and shipping computer systems.
- Able to operate forklift.
- Working knowledge of receiving procedures
