Graduate instruction was first offered at NC State in 1893, with the first master’s degree conferred in 1894 and the first doctoral degree conferred in 1926. In the years since, the Graduate School has grown steadily and now supports advanced study and original research in the fields of agriculture and life sciences, design, education, engineering, natural resources, humanities and social sciences, management, physical and mathematical sciences, textiles, and veterinary medicine. This role blends compliance, counseling, partnership development, and strategic marketing to strengthen the university’s international presence.
