We are currently expanding and looking for an experienced HVAC Estimator to support our growing pipeline of commercial construction projects.We are looking for a
skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Estimator with experience in commercial construction to join our team in Chino, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reading blueprints, preparing accurate takeoffs, and developing competitive bids for HVAC systems in commercial buildings, including retail centers, warehouses, offices, and other commercial facilities.This position plays a
critical role in the success of our pre-construction team by ensuring accurate cost projections, identifying project risks, and helping to win profitable work.Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, construction documents, and specifications
- Perform detailed HVAC takeoffs, including ductwork, piping, equipment, and controls
- Prepare labor and material estimates using estimating software and internal databases
- Solicit and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors
- Develop complete bid packages and proposals for design-build and plan/spec projects
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients during pre-construction phases
- Analyze historical cost data to ensure competitive and accurate pricing
- Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client presentations when required
- Track project bids and provide regular status updates to leadership
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Estimator in commercial construction
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation practices, and commercial codes
- Proficient in reading mechanical blueprints and specifications
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., FastEST, QuoteSoft, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Excellent mathematical, organizational, and communication skills
- Familiarity with project bidding platforms and vendor outreach
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of current HVAC equipment, materials, and labor trends
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is a plus
