Position Overview:

The HR Manager will oversee a wide range of human resource functions, including audits, compliance, employee relations, and onboarding. This role requires specific experience in

insurance audits, particularly in workers' compensation and general liability, along with the ability to navigate compliance in a fast-paced, field-based construction environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • HR & Insurance Audits: Manage internal audits and support external audits, including detailed documentation and reporting for workers' compensation and general liability insurance policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company remains in full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including OSHA, labor regulations, and jobsite requirements.
  • Employee Relations: Address and resolve employee behavior issues across both office and field teams; conduct investigations and provide guidance to management.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Lead a streamlined and professional onboarding experience for all new hires, ensuring necessary compliance and safety training is completed.
  • Field & Office HR Support: Act as a resource to employees and managers across multiple job sites and office locations, providing day-to-day HR support.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor�s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership capacity
  • Strong understanding of insurance audit requirements, particularly for workers' compensation and general liability policies
  • Proven experience in managing employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and experience working in construction or trades-based environments preferred
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable in a fast-growing company

Duties


  • Manage the recruitment process, including talent acquisition, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Oversee employee orientation programs to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company.
  • Develop and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance and support career development.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and workers' compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with FMLA, OSHA regulations, and other employment laws.
  • Facilitate conflict management and resolution processes within the organization.
  • Lead training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
  • Conduct HR data analysis for informed decision-making regarding human capital management.
  • Supervise HR staff and provide guidance on HR sourcing, organization design, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on succession planning and organizational change management efforts.
  • Utilize HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms for efficient HR operations.


Requirements


  • Proven experience in human resources management with a focus on talent management and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, including FMLA regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience in contract management.
  • Demonstrated ability in program management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis to drive HR strategies.
  • Familiarity with various HRIS systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, Kronos) is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in budgeting for HR initiatives is a plus.
