Houston Tunnel Tour Guide

Houston's top-ranked tour company specializing in city tours, corporate event planning, and shuttle transportation to the NASA Space Center for some of Space City's largest Fortune 500 companies. We are currently looking to hire fun and experienced tour guides, educators and personalities to join our team of part-time Houston tour guides.

IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR AN INTERVIEW, YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

• Working as a Tour Guide or Experience Host for a tourism-related company for at least two (2) years
  
• Part-time weekday availability from Monday-Friday morning / early afternoon
  
• Strong storytelling abilities and public communication skills

Additional Job Requirements Include:

• Ability to fluently speak 2 or more languages is a PLUS
  
• Ability to easily build rapport and engage tour guests with info & sense of humor
  
• Ability to retain and recite detailed tour information, facts, and stories for a period of 2 hours
  
• Willingness to work independently in a team-oriented environment
  
• Genuine love for the city of Houston and teaching guests about our local culture, restaurants, and city attractions
  
• Strong interest or motivation in any of the following areas: history, culture, art/architecture, sports, pop culture, music/theater, travel and food
  
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude while handling unexpected situations with strong sense for safety / customer satisfaction
  
• Ambition to grow into a future managerial / leadership role (preferred)

Pay: $30.00 per hour plus tips from our generous guests. You will also receive a significant Training Bonus upon the completion of our company training orientation program and two (2) months of successfully running independent tours on your own.

Our tour guides make substantial tips because they’re strong storytellers as well as resourceful when it comes to enjoying the best of Houston and providing recommendations! Many of our guides will earn between $50 - $100 from tips during the busy seasons and even larger tips during the holiday season! We also offer a $20 bonus for each 5-star review on Google that mentions your name!

Please note, all new contractors will need to complete our company training orientation program to learn how to become a proficient and efficient tour guide in the city of Houston as well as sign our required Non-Disclosure and Non-Compete Forms. All training staff will be required to pass a retention exam on the required knowledge within 60 days and execute all required legal paperwork to commence their contractual employment with Astroville Tours LLC. You will initially work as an independent contractor so you can add this job to your current schooling or in addition to another part-time job/hobby. The majority of our tours depart at 11 am and/or 1:30 pm from Monday-Friday.
