Hospitalist CNP or PA - Temporary - 4 months

As a

• Diagnose, treat, and provide continuous care to hospitalized post-operative patients.
  
• Conduct pre- and post-op assessments, rounds, and communicate directly with patients and families.
  
• Collaborate with surgeons on individualized treatment plans.
  
• Prescribe medications and order/interpret lab tests, imaging, and diagnostics.
  
• Lead discharge planning and coordinate with primary care and other services.
  
• Document clinical care thoroughly and accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
  
• Support nursing staff and other healthcare team members as needed.
  

Maintain active continuing education and participate in team meetings.

This is a full-time temporary position; expected from October 2025 to February 2026.

Schedule: Monday - Friday. 7:30am-4:00pm

This Hospitalist position is located at our main hospital location at 910 E 20th St. Sioux Falls, SD.

At our surgical specialty hospital, the 33-bed Recovery Care Unit is a vital component for the continuation of care for our surgical patients needing an overnight stay. On average, our patients stay 1-2 nights, where our dedicated team prioritizes a patient-centered approach to care. Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  
• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of South Dakota
  
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred (can be obtained upon hire)
  
• 2+ years in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice strongly preferred
  
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients and situations
  
• Skilled in the use of EMR systems and standard medical software
  
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  

Familiarity with infection control procedures and emergency response
