Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of Saint Paul, Minnesota serving approximately 900 students in grades PreK to 12. 2025-2026 will be our 31st anniversary school year. We are seeking a Social Studies Teacher to join our High School team for the 2025-2026 school year. The Social Studies Teacher will teach three sections of 10th Grade World History and an Elective for Semester 1, and three sections of 9th Grade US History and an elective Semester 2. In addition, the Social Studies Teacher will serve as the Advisory/Ethics Teacher for a cohort of 10th grade students.
The qualified applicant will hold a Minnesota Teaching license in Social Studies, have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards, possess the ability to develop rapport with learners of diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance.
We place great emphasis upon building community and encouraging character development through positive relationships. Home Visits have been a key component of the CPA tradition for over 20 years. Each fall, Teachers visit the homes of their students after school, usually in pairs or teams of three.
