Rocky Mountain Development Council’s Head Start Program is seeking applicants for a full-time Education Supervisor 40 hours/week, approximately 44 weeks/year, and may be scheduled 16 hours per week for approximately 8 weeks in the summer. This position will supervise the work of Head Start Teacher’s and Teacher Assistants in Helena and East Helena. The starting salary is $26.72 per hour.

The Education Supervisor oversees the preparation of classroom materials and policies for distribution at the start of each school year, with support from summer staff. They focus on promoting the school readiness of Rocky Head Start children through mentoring, training, and technical assistance. This involves culturally responsive service delivery to enhance children's development across all areas of the curriculum.
The role primarily involves supervising and evaluating classroom staff to ensure the school readiness of Rocky Head Start children. The Education Supervisor serves as the referral source for individual and staff needs requiring intervention by the program's Education Coach and collaborates with other Leadership Team members. This position may be used to maintain ratio requirements in the classroom.
Meeting the Head Start Act of 2007 is a requirement of this position. The following are the educational qualifications listed in the Head Start Act of 2007:
· a baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education; or
· a baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
· a baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education who have a state teaching license and will apply for a class 5 provisional license and will have the appropriate degree and Pre-K-3 teaching license.
Rocky Head Start, in working with the Montana Early Childhood Project (MTECP), has determined applicants who are at a Level 6 or higher on the Montana Early Childhood Project (MTECP) Practitioner Registry meet the requirements.This position will also be required to obtain and maintain a Professional Development Specialist (PDS) certification through MTECP.Please see www.mtecp.org
A sex offender registry check, a state Protective Services Background, and a State
or FBI criminal history records check including fingerprint checks are required prior to hiring and every five years thereafter. (*If the criminal history record checks were not completed prior to hire, they must be completed within 90 days.)Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle, current liability insurance, and be insurable on Rocky’s motor vehicle insurance. It is preferred that the employee qualify as a primary care giver per Montana day care licensing requirements.
All staff must obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification and maintain current certification. Rocky Head Start requires all staff to be members of the Montana Early Childhood Project (MTECP) Practitioner Registry and maintain current registration, which includes 16 hours of annual training.
