We are seeking a skilled Locator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate identification and marking of underground utilities, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our projects. The Locator will work closely with various teams to facilitate smooth operations on-site.
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, and bulldozers to assist in locating utilities.
- Utilize grading equipment and Caterpillar machinery for precise site preparation and utility identification.
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to coordinate utility location efforts effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of utility locations and any changes made during the project.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide mechanical support as needed, leveraging strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues.
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, bulldozers, and graders.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
- Previous experience in utility location or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
