Are you ready to take the lead in sustainable forestry operations? Weyerhaeuser is seeking a dedicated Harvest Manager to join our Southern Timberlands division in the North Louisiana/Arkansas Region, based in Crossett, AR. Reporting directly to the Crossett Area Wood Flow Manager, this role plays a critical part in planning and overseeing harvesting operations. It involves extensive fieldwork and regular travel to logging sites, offering a dynamic and hands-on opportunity to make a lasting impact in forest management.


Key Functions:


  • Administer harvesting and transportation contracts to ensure alignment with planned volumes and market commitments.
  • Conduct on-site verification of harvest plans and supervise active harvest operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Negotiate harvesting contracts and manage contractor relationships, including monitoring performance and addressing noncompliance.
  • Enforce safety and environmental standards across all harvesting activities and ensure quality in thinning operations.
  • Optimize product utilization through effective merchandizing strategies and maintain accurate, timely updates in operational systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Wood Flow, Marketing, Silviculture, Planning, and Geographic Leaders to support annual business objectives.
  • Oversee logging road maintenance activities to support safe and reliable access to harvest sites.


Qualifications* Preferred: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant forestry or natural resources experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to evaluate supplier performance using cost, volume, and quality data.
  • Proficient in applying conversion factors between scales and weights and understanding log characteristics that impact raw material value.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, labor, and transportation regulations related to harvesting operations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other relevant software applications; capable of managing time effectively in a self-directed work environment.
  • Valid driver�s license required; must be able to safely navigate uneven terrain and active harvesting sites near heavy equipment.


Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $49,379 - $86,941 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.


Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3 weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
