The Central Fine Arts Academy (CFAA) is seeking a guitar teacher for its upcoming 12 week fall session, scheduled from September 13 - December 9, 2025. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings between 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm (ending at 8:00 pm) and Saturday afternoons 1:30 - 4 pm, with flexible scheduling to accommodate teacher availability.


CFAA is a community outreach program sponsored by Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, designed to encourage and nurture student growth in the arts. The academy currently offers private lessons in piano, violin, ukulele, guitar, drums, and voice, as well as small group classes in sculpture and drawing. During the academic year, the academy serves 35-50 students, with the majority (approximately 75%) being elementary-aged children (5-11 years old), many of whom are beginners.


Responsibilities:


· Provide weekly private guitar instruction tailored to the age and experience of each student


· Select appropriate instructional materials


· Communicate regularly with students, parents, and the CFAA Director


· Maintain a professional and punctual teaching schedule


Compensation:

$20 per 30-minute private lesson taught


Qualifications:


· Enjoys working with students from elementary age through adults


· Degree in music performance or education, or currently enrolled in a college music program


· Successful completion of a background check


· Strong communication skills and a commitment to punctuality
