Job Category: Exempt, 35 hour Workweek

Salary Range: $66,000.00 - $73,000,00

Position Summary:

The Proposal, Award, and Compliance Generalist/Specialist supports faculty and staff in preparing and submitting funding proposals, monitors compliance processes, supports non-fiscal post-award management and reporting, assists with faculty engagement, and participates in enhancing the grant seeking culture across campus. This position reports to the Director of Grants and Sponsored Research. [The determination of generalist or specialist in the job title will be based upon experience level at hire.]

Main Responsibilities:

• Proposal Development and Submission - Work with faculty and staff to develop and improve grant proposal submissions and to prepare for submissions by assisting with budgeting, forms, institutional information, data entry, and submission meetings.
  
• Proposal/Award Compliance and Administration - Ensure compliance with institutional as well as funder guidelines and policies. Ensure that all institutional rates are applied to proposals as required. Work with faculty and staff to build understanding of compliance-related requirements.
  
• Staff and Stakeholder Training - Work with research administrators across campus, both new and experienced, to help level-set knowledge across TCNJ's schools. This may include one-on-one coaching, group presentations, individual or group Zoom meetings, or other formats.
  
• Reporting and Data Management - Assist with data tracking using complex Excel spreadsheets and system reports. Provide customized reports upon request.
  
• Other Duties as Assigned - Other duties may include gathering data, special projects, file management, recordkeeping, event planning and assistance, and other.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by a Master's degree in a related field.
  
• Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  
• At least two years of experience in grant administration, preferably in a higher education setting.
  
• Personal computer skills are essential; working knowledge of the Microsoft software suite is required, especially use of spreadsheet (i.e., Excel) word processing, and database applications. Understanding of Google suite is required as well.
  
• Strong verbal, writing, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), Understanding and ability to interpret audited financial statements.
  
• Ability to understand and apply complex information pertinent to grant and contract submissions, as well as TCNJ, funding agency, state and federal regulations, and Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks in a professional manner.
