Pre-Testing Nurse (RN) to join our team.The
Pre-Testing Nurse is responsible for coordinating, compiling, and assessing pre-operative testing to ensure patients are medically prepared for outpatient surgery. This role involves patient education, chart review, pre-op scheduling, and communication with physicians, patients, and other staff.Employment Type: Full-Time (30+ hours/week), benefit eligible
- Conduct and document pre-operative assessments.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures and expectations.
- Schedule surgery times and communicate arrival details to patients.
- Ensure all necessary labs, EKGs, and anesthesia reviews are complete.
- Review medical histories and One Medical Passport entries.
- Make pre-op calls and follow up on missing test results.
- Finalize daily surgical schedules and confirm site markings.
- Occasionally assist in other nursing areas as needed (Pre-Op, OR, PACU, Pain Management).
- Respond to emergencies and support patient safety at all times.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the State of Ohio.
- BLS certification (must maintain during employment).
- ACLS and PALS (can be obtained while employed).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Previous experience in pre-op or surgical center setting.
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Must occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs and assist with patient mobility.
- May be exposed to stressful situations and communicable diseases.
- Must be comfortable using computers and office equipment.
