This position supports the CowManager portfolio of products and technology through pre-sales, sales, installation, training, and ongoing support for both team members and customers. This work directly supports CentralStar’s artificial-insemination (A.I.) and herd-management products and services, while advancing the cooperative’s long-term mission. Reporting to the CowManager Program Director, this individual works closely with customers, field staff, and other key partners to achieve successful outcomes.


Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Promote and train customers and team members about the CowManager portfolio of products and technology;
  • Work with farm-management teams, including veterinarians, nutritionists, and reproductive consultants to recommend and implement CowManager reproductive, production, and health solutions for herds, futuristically integrating these technologies;
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients, within the defined territory, to drive sales;
  • Maintain detailed records of prospective clients for future follow-up, and regularly reconnect with current customers to share new features;
  • Schedule and implement sales meetings to provide data- and technology-consulting services to dairy, beef, and youngstock producers;
  • Lead and execute new-sale installation efforts, including organizing and guiding other team members, when needed, for large-system installs;
  • Quickly and effectively respond to technical challenges or system issues from existing users;
  • Maintain an in-depth working knowledge of CowManager as new features/products are launched and provide ongoing training accordingly; and
  • Develop knowledge of industry and herd-management software and equipment that may need to be integrated or interfaced with CowManager for desired outcomes and action plans.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze farm records and accurately benchmark reproduction, production, and health data. Use this data to develop progress reports for herd owners, highlight areas for improvement, and identify potential CowManager prospects.
  • Proactively market and integrate other CentralStar offerings, including our genetic, service, and product portfolio, to maximize industry advantages, and
  • Co-manage integral key accounts with other senior staff members.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor�s degree in dairy/animal science, agribusiness, or a related area is preferred;
  • In-depth knowledge of the dairy/beef industry is required;
  • Proven success in sales (preferably agribusiness) with five or more years of experience required (A combination of successful experience and education will be considered.);
  • Robust computer knowledge, as well as strong technical skills with hardware and software;
  • Mechanical abilities to install and adapt to on-farm scenarios;
  • Extensive knowledge of standard practices in the areas of livestock reproduction, herd health, and youngstock rearing;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Exceptional speaking and discussion skills, including content preparation, dynamic delivery efforts, and the ability to interact with a small audience and answer questions;
  • Positive work ethic with a service-orientated attitude;
  • Demonstrates strong self-motivation and organization, with a high level of accountability in both independent and team settings;
  • Expected to handle confidential information with discretion;
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies;
  • Committed to self-continuing education and staying current on industry trends;
  • General computer skills required, such as experience with Microsoft office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word); and a
  • Valid driver�s license.
  • This person must have the ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, and to lift and carry objects up to 120 pounds.
