Our client has a need for a Social Media Manager to support its communications team, 25-30 hours per week, beginning in September, for about 6 weeks to help with a leave coverage. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's social media presence across multiple platforms, ensuring consistent engagement and visibility of its work. You must be willing to work an EST schedule.


Social Media Manager Key Responsibilities:


  • Draft and schedule social media content across Instagram, Facebook, X, Bluesky, and LinkedIn


  • Create and manage graphics and video content using Canva templates and in coordination with design and studio teams


  • Monitor and engage with the organization's social media community, including responding to messages and interacting with relevant posts


  • Promote media hits and upcoming events through dynamic social media content


  • Coordinate with the Director of Communications and graphic designer to align on content needs and timelines


  • Track analytics through proper tagging and use of custom URLs


Social Media Manager Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in social media management, ideally within the public policy or nonprofit sector


  • Proven success in managing organizational social media accounts and creating engaging content


  • Strong writing skills with the ability to distill complex topics into accessible, bite-sized posts


  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
