Special Requirements


Possession of a valid Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) Commercial Airman Certificate with rotorcraft-helicopter rating or a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot's Certificate with a rotorcraft- helicopter rating.


Possession of a valid and current Class II Airman's Medical Certificate issued by an FAA authorized medical examiner.


Valid driver license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Benefits


Forestry Fire Pilot (1046)

This classification is eligible for the following pay:


$7754 - $10,232 Base Salary (paid every month)

$2635 - $3478 Extended Duty Week Compensation (paid every 4 weeks)

$122,784 - $167,998 Annual Compensation


In addition to the above pay items, employees are eligible for medical benefits (health, dental, vision) and may be eligible for other pay differentials.

Additional Forestry Fire Pilot Pay Incentives:* 10% for CAL FIRE NVG Qualification
  • 2.5% for Unit Instructor Pilot
  • These pay incentives have minimum qualifications and training requirements and also apply to retirement compensation.
