Hayfield Secondary School
Oversees food preparation and distribution operations in a central food preparation kitchen; may serve as the primary backup for the manager of the central kitchen.
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
- Two (2) years of experience in institutional food services.
- Successful completion of the Fairfax County Public Schools manager in training course.
- Possession of a Fairfax County Sanitation Certificate obtained within 45 calendar days of hire.
- Must be free of any infectious or communicable disease which, according to a determination by the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, poses a risk of transmission through the handling of food.
- Knowledge of the procedures, practices, operations, and equipment of institutional food preparation.
- Ability to prepare, store, and serve food in a quantity cookery program to promote the program, extend recipes, and maintain a perpetual inventory.
- Ability to operate all computerized programs.
- Proficiency in the use of technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
