Job Description

A Field-Testing Analyst plays an important role within the Outdoor Performance platform team by utilizing data to offer valuable insights to the Product organizations. By conducting field tests and gathering data on product performance in real-world outdoor environments, these analysts help identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in the company's products. This hands-on approach allows for the collection of valuable information that can be used to make informed decisions and enhancements to the products being developed.

The insights provided by Field Testing Analysts are essential for driving the success of the company as they help ensure that the products meet the needs and expectations of customers. By analyzing the data collected during field tests, these analysts can offer recommendations for product enhancements, identify potential issues early on, and ultimately contribute to the development of high-quality products that are well-suited for outdoor use. Their work helps the Product organizations make informed decisions that lead to improved product performance, customer satisfaction, and overall company success.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Materials & Testing Director of Continuous Improvement & Quality Engineering and is based out of our Bozeman office.

As the Field Testing Analyst, you will have an opportunity to:* Analyzes data to produce business information used to support strategy development and decision making.

• Communicate by leading with insights with supporting data and details available when needed.
  
• When required, present data and insights to internal executives.
  
• Identifying products to be assessed in field testing.
  
• Defining the appropriate test to be carried out including the test data to be used.
  
• Managing the test data by documenting the results of each test cycle to identify flaws.
  
• Interacting with and coordinating the development team and ensuring that effective communication takes place.
  
• Manage a database of Testers, including recruitment, rationalizing, communication, NDA, feedback, and idea generation across a broad range of product categories and focus areas. Establish clear criteria for approved field testers with regional and year-round test capabilities.
  
• Place seasonal Salesman Sample Purchase Orders for final field testing opportunities and lab testing opportunities.
  
• Order seasonal samples to send out into the field to validate fabrics and garment features.
  
• Work with the repairs team to understand product failure methods and perform product evaluations.
  
• Support internal lab testing and product quality activities when needed.
  
• Create and administer product surveys to field testers to supplement field feedback.
  
• Work with the warehouse team to ship and retrieve field testing samples both domestically and internationally.
  
• Interact with testers to learn how products are used in different environments.
  

You have:* A bachelor's degree

• 1-2 years of experience in providing analytical insights
  
• Effective and professional communication skills
  
• Team player
  
• Ability to lift heavy sample boxes and coordinate shipping samples to many end users.
  

You might have:* 2 years experience in the outdoor products industry
