Federal Programs
Assists with the OKCPS federal programs through the maintenance and compilation of budget and financial program information. Provides administrative support and financial services to schools and central office administrators.
+ Establishes a fund account for all Title I resources; maintain accurate records of expenditures and balances for each year of the grant allocation.
+ Manages and directs the day to day budget and financial activities of OKCPS Title 1 Program and School Improvement.
+ Provides a monthly report to the Executive Director of Federal Programs delineating general fund and grant transactions relative to the department and render a summary of encumbrances, expenditures and remaining balances.
+ Reviews claims, expenditures and staffing monthly.
+ Provides monthly training for principals, secretaries and other related staff regarding Title I budgets, purchase orders, etc. Must drive to various sites to provide this training.
+ Interacts in a collegial manner with district and state department personnel related to transactions impacting Title I services.
+ Assists in the development and preparation of financial accountability and evaluation processes to monitor/measure the effectiveness of the Title I Program.
+ Advises the Executive Director of Federal Programs of policy and procedural changes and assures that Federal, State and district financial processes, rules, regulations and statutes are adhered to on an on-going basis.
+ Prepares and provides assistance with purchase orders and payment vouchers for Title I expenditures from program resources.
+ Monitors Time and Effort Reporting for employees funded by Title I.
+ Assists schools in the management of their Title I allocation to preclude excess carryover.
+ Promotes the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the Department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting or related field.
+ Three (3) years of related experience.
+ Demonstrated superior skills in analyzing data for the purpose of making recommendations, preparing detailed reports, and making sound decisions based on the outcome of the analysis.
+ Reliable transportation needed to drive between school sites.
+ Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
+ Ability to work well with others in a diverse education community.
+ Experience with Compliance issues, grant funded programs, accounting or finance services in an education environment preferred.
+ Computer operations skills required in such applications as Microsoft Office, Google Docs and databases highly desirable.
+ Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
+ Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
+ Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
+ Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
+ Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
+ May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
+ Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment.

Compensation: Schedule 806 (The salary for this position is determined based on internal equity with current staff, as well as the candidate’s education, experience, and qualifications.)
