Family Consumer Science Teacher

Are you passionate about empowering students with real-life skills? Lebanon School District is searching for an enthusiastic Family & Consumer Science Teacher to make a real difference at both Lebanon Junior High and Lebanon High School.

You’ll help students build the skills, attitudes, and knowledge they’ll need for life after graduation-whether that means college, career, or just navigating adulthood. From teaching nutrition and food prep to financial literacy, family relations, clothing and textiles, and home management, you’ll create hands-on, practical lessons that stick. You’ll also:

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with the Lebanon SD Family/Consumer Science Curriculum
  
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive
  
• Adapt lessons for individual learning needs and collaborate with other teachers in inclusive settings
  
• Introduce students to safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and technology (think: kitchen tools, sewing machines, spreadsheets, and more)
  
• Monitor and celebrate student growth-both academically and socially
  
• Maintain accurate records, inventory, and provide timely feedback to students and parents
  
• Participate in curriculum development, professional growth, and school-wide initiatives
  

• Bachelor�s Degree and valid Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Family & Consumer Science (or the ability to obtain it)
  
• A knack for creativity and a passion for hands-on, real-world learning
  
• Comfort with technology, including email, Word, spreadsheets, and curriculum software
  
• Strong communication skills-you�re ready to connect with students, families, colleagues, and the community
  
• A desire to collaborate, grow, and contribute to a vibrant school culture
  

This is a shared position between Lebanon Junior High and Lebanon High School. You’ll get to know students at different stages and help shape their journey from middle school through graduation. You’ll work closely with supportive principals, colleagues, and families who value what you do.
