Job Summary:


The Facilities & Maintenance Staff position is vital in ensuring that the facilities at Rejoice Christian School (RCS) are well-maintained, clean, and functional. This role provides a safe, attractive, and comfortable environment that supports the school’s mission and fosters an excellent learning and working environment. The incumbent will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring the continued upkeep of campus buildings, grounds, and facilities.


Qualifications:


  • Must be a committed Christian, demonstrating a Christ-centered lifestyle.
  • Previous related experience in custodial and maintenance work is desired.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain necessary tools and equipment for facility upkeep.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.


Essential Functions:


  • Report directly to the Facilities & Transportation Director and follow specific work directions for tasks and responsibilities.
  • Perform maintenance duties to ensure a safe, attractive, and clean environment conducive to full and productive use of the school�s facilities.
  • Maintain interior walls, including drywall repair and painting.
  • Maintain and service HVAC systems to ensure their proper functioning.
  • Make facility changes as needed for special events, including moving furniture and setting up spaces.
  • Repair damages to buildings, including walls, floors, ceilings, and other structures.
  • Use specialized skills and equipment to maintain the entire campus, including buildings, fences, landscaping, and more.
  • Perform other repair and maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities & Transportation Director.
  • Continuously develop and maintain knowledge related to the area of responsibility, staying informed of new techniques, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate positive personal and interpersonal behavior, attitude, judgment, and communication in interactions with staff, supervisors, and the school community.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of performance, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Be flexible and willing to complete any tasks as needed to support the school�s facilities needs.


Physical and Safety Requirements:


  • This is a safety-sensitive position; employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
  • Lift and move classroom materials (up to 25-30 lbs).
  • Bend, kneel, and reach to assist students or access materials.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various physical environments, including working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Perform any other duties and tasks as assigned by the Facilities & Transportation Director to ensure the smooth operation of the school�s facilities.
