TAP Plastics is the leading specialty retailer of plastics and fiberglass supplies for the do-it-yourself market. As a TAP employee, you will enjoy a job that provides variety in a creative and fast-paced working environment. TAP is currently hiring for a full-time Fabricator for our store in San Mateo, CA.
- Operate basic tools (table saw, band saws, drill press, routers, sanders and polishing equipment etc.) to cut plastic sheet material to customer specifications
- Construct displays, boxes and similar fixtures out of plastic from customer provided plans
- Complete orders on time and with high level of accuracy
- Write accurate estimates and follow-up with customers
- Keep sheet racks organized and maintain clean work space
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Assist with unloading the delivery truck
- Shop tool experience is required
- Good communication skills and basic math skills (able to read tape measure)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read diagrams/schematics for hole placement and sizes. Able to read inches as well as millimeters
- Carpentry skills preferred
- Requires mobility to operate shop tools and the ability to move materials weighing up to 75 lbs. on occasion
