Position Summary:


The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all environmental, health, and safety programs and initiatives at SEMCORP Manufacturing USA’s battery separator production facility in Sidney, Ohio. This leadership role ensures that all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace culture.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and manage the site�s EHS management system in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead the development and enforcement of site-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and manage all audits, inspections, reporting, and permit renewals.
  • Monitor compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, and ensure timely reporting and corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs), and implement hazard controls.
  • Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on environmental health and safety topics, including emergency response, PPE, hazardous materials handling, and employee wellness.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response initiatives, including drills and continuity planning.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation required for EHS compliance and performance metrics.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, and communication.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, HR, and engineering to integrate EHS practices into daily activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and support company sustainability and waste reduction goals.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor�s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in chemical or battery materials manufacturing is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of implementing EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance including air, water, and waste permits.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar credential preferred.


Work Environment:


This position requires routine presence on the plant floor and may involve exposure to chemicals, machinery, noise, and other hazards typical of a manufacturing environment. Requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
