1. Working knowledge and experience in biology, microbiology, chemistry, engineering principles and practices, and math,
2. Demonstrated ability to make sound engineering decisions,
3. Ability to effectively communicate in English, including written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to present before groups and in public meetings and produce technical reports,
4. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret law, regulations, policies, and technical documents,
5. Ability to supervise people, and
6. Transferable engineering knowledge applicable to drinking water.
1. Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) license,
2. Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering (Civil, Sanitary, Environmental, or Chemical Engineer) related field, and
3. Knowledge of process evaluation and optimization.

This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the Public Water Supply Supervision Grant for a year period ended June 30, 2026, and renewed annually. The availability of funding is scheduled for review before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.
