Engineering Field Technician

Our geotechnical engineering firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineering Technician (Materials Testing) to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials by performing a variety of field and laboratory tests on soil, concrete, and other construction materials.

• Conducting field density testing of soils and aggregates using nuclear density gauges (e.g., sand cone density, Proctor density).
  
• Performing in-situ testing of asphalt pavements to measure compaction and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  
• Collecting and preparing concrete and asphalt samples for laboratory analysis.
  
• Conducting a wide range of laboratory tests on soil, concrete, and asphalt samples in accordance with ASTM standards, including:
  
• Sieve analysis for soil gradation
  
• Moisture content testing
  
• Concrete slump and air content testing
  
• Asphalt density and air void testing
  
• Compressive strength testing of concrete and asphalt cylinders
  
• Analyzing test data and preparing clear and concise reports for engineers.
  
• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory and field testing equipment.
  
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all testing procedures and results.
  
• May assist with field investigations and soil sampling (depending on experience).
  

• No minimum experience required.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  
• Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Valid driver's license.
