Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly experienced

Environmental Engineer to join our team, with specialized expertise in U.S. EPA regulations, water treatment technologies, and environmental compliance. This role will be instrumental in advancing water quality projects, conducting regulatory risk assessments, supporting Department of Defense (DoD) environmental compliance initiatives, and implementing advanced treatment solutions for emerging contaminants.


Responsibilities:


· Lead and support projects involving

Clean Water Act (CWA), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and Surface Water Treatment Rule (SWTR) compliance.


· Develop, review, and implement water and wastewater treatment processes including

Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), Membrane Filtration, and Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR).


· Interpret and apply

EPA effluent guidelines and standards, with a focus on protecting public health and maintaining regulatory compliance.


· Perform risk assessments and mitigation planning for

emerging contaminants, including PFAS and other UCMR-regulated substances.


· Analyze environmental data and generate actionable insights for treatment optimization, trend forecasting, and compliance assurance.


· Oversee and implement

Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR) programs and reporting.


· Serve as a technical advisor for

DoD environmental policy, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations and supporting Environmental Restoration and Compliance programs.


· Engage in stakeholder communication, regulatory reporting, and permitting with local, state, and federal agencies.


· Support environmental data management systems, QA/QC processes, and data visualization efforts for internal and external reporting.


· Provide subject matter expertise on

emerging technologies, treatment innovations, and regulatory trends.


Qualifications (Education and Experience):


· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in

Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.


· Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.


·

8+ years of professional experience in water and wastewater treatment, environmental regulatory compliance, or environmental risk mitigation.


· In-depth knowledge of

CWA, SDWA, NPDES, SWTR, and EPA effluent guidelines.


· Demonstrated expertise in

AOPs, GAC, Membrane Filtration, BNR, and other advanced treatment technologies.


· Proficient in UCMR data analysis and emerging contaminant identification and mitigation strategies.


· Strong background in environmental data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, GIS, Power BI, or statistical software).


· Comprehensive understanding of

DoD environmental policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.


· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with government agencies and project stakeholders.


Preferred:


· Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, and military site remediation.


· Familiarity with modeling software (e.g., QUAL2K, EPANET, or similar tools).


· Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
