Electrical Test Technician


Job Summary:


The Electrical Test Technician at 2G Engineering is a key member of our AS9100-certified manufacturing team, supporting the production and testing of sub-sea actuators and custom electronic assemblies. This role involves using specialized test fixtures and diagnostic equipment to evaluate product performance and electrical assemblies ensuring they meet published specifications. In addition to testing responsibilities, you will assist the electrical team with assembly and inspection tasks, maintain test areas and documentation, and support production activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The following are the core duties of the position. This list is not exhaustive; other reasonable tasks may be assigned as needed.


· Test actuators and electrical products to ensure performance and quality standards are met


· Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain test equipment for a range of fixtures and products


· Generate and maintain clear, organized test records and documentation


· Communicate timelines and provide status updates to relevant business units


· Perform entry-level PCB assembly, soldering, and inspection


· Assemble wire harnesses according to wiring diagrams


· Troubleshoot issues alongside the production team and engineering, provide feedback, and carry out high-quality repairs


· Collaborate with engineering to optimize workflows and improve test methods


· Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment


Experience / Education / Certifications Desired:


· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in applied electrical


technology, computer engineering technology, or a related technical field preferred


· Experience as a test or quality technician or in a related technical role, with a solid


understanding of basic electronics and mechanical principles


· Certifications or coursework in electronics assembly, soldering, quality management, or IT are a plus


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired:


· Experience executing test plans and documenting results in a technical setting


· Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams


· Proficiency in soldering, PCB assembly, and wire harness manufacturing; familiarity with IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 standards is a plus


· Experience operating test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other diagnostic tools


· Ability to identify design flaws or functional issues and take corrective action to improve safety and quality


· Self-motivated and capable of independently improving processes and workflows


· Experience with CAD software, 3D printing, or laser cutting/engraving equipment is a plus


· Competency with word processing, spreadsheets, and general computer use; advanced IT skills (e.g., driver installation, Python scripting) are a plus


· Ability to stay focused on quality in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 is a plus


· Adherence to OSHA and company safety regulations
