Job Description:


We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven

Education Coordinator to lead and support high-quality educational programming for young children within our Early Childhood Center of Excellence program.


This role plays a critical part in advancing our commitment to inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based early childhood education Under general supervision of the Early Childhood Center of Excellence (ECCE) Director, the Education Coordinator operates the child development program in compliance with State Child Care Licensing Rules, NAEYC Accreditation Standards, and agency standards.


The Education Coordinator also provides oversight to curriculum planning throughout the program, as well as assisting with coaching & professional development.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Partner with the ECCE Director to assist with the development, implementation, and continuation of policies, procedures and operations that are consistent with local, state and federal regulations, NAEYC Accreditation criteria and agency requirements regarding education, health and safety of children and their environment.
  • Assist the ECCE Director to ensure full enrollment of the ECCE, track daily census, as well as enter & maintain child and family enrollment data, statistics, and reports required by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain respectful and supportive individual relationships with parents and prospective parents through effective communication in person, via phone and email, in handbooks, and program outreach materials.
  • Collaborate with the ECCE Director to ensure adequate staffing to meet needs of children and licensing requirements, including scheduling adequate substitution resources to meet needs for staff emergencies or vacations, as well as assisting teachers in classroom.
  • Observe, coach, support, and assist with training early childhood teaching staff on the implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom strategies, classroom management practices, NAEYC guidelines and regulations, and behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Oversee curriculum planning & development for early childhood teaching staff to ensure appropriate curriculum and lessons are integrated across all abilities in classrooms.
  • Partner with the ECCE Director, Children�s Therapeutic Services Program, and the Early Childhood Care Coordination Team to ensure a positive and inclusive classroom experience for children with disabilities and other special needs.
  • Support & coach early childhood teaching teams to deliver high-quality services and trauma-informed care focused teaching practices to children with disabilities, social & emotional challenges, disruptive or physically aggressive behavior.
  • Assist the ECCE Director to recruit, hire and train personnel while ensuring appropriate teacher-to-child ratios.
  • Collaborate with ECCE Director and the Early Childhood Care Coordination Team to identify community programming needs, family engagement activities, and referral & resource needs relating to welfare, health, and safety concerns.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the program by answering incoming phone calls, accepting Procare payments, greeting guests, and assisting the ECCE Director with related duties.
  • Promote, train, and follow all NH Child Care Licensing Unit rules & regulations, as well as NAEYC standards.


Qualifications:


  • Associate�s Degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Human Services, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in a licensed child development program is required OR:
  • Bachelor�s Degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Human Services, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in a licensed child development program, is preferred
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Development credential within 6 months of hire date
  • The ability to meet NH Child Care Licensing Unit�s requirements for ‘Center Director� preferred
  • Certified in Infant/Child CPR, CPR and First Aid required
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid driver�s license and reliable transportation
Hours: 40 hrs


Compensation: $27.60 + with additional compensation based off experience and education
