We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the health and well-being of our furry animals while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising them.
- Maintain cleanliness in kennels, play areas, and common spaces by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
- Administer medication as needed.
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing pets as needed.
- Handle dogs safely during playtime and while on walks to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with potential adopters regarding the animals needs and behaviors.
- Support veterinary staff with basic tasks as required.
- Experience in dog handling is not required but beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for animal care tasks.
- Knowledge of kennel operations and pet care practices is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills
