-Additional hours may be available for weekend catering events
-Restaurant Hours: Mon-Tue: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM | Wed-Fri: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM


We are a small, family-owned and operated restaurant with a tight-knit team that values respect, hard work, and team unity. We’re currently hiring a

Dishwasher / Kitchen Prep team member to support both the prep and service side of our kitchen. This role is hands-on - it includes dishwashing and food prep, sandwich/salad station setup, knife work, and general kitchen assistance.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Dishwashing & Sanitation:
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Clean, maintain, and unload the dish machine
  • Take out trash and maintain a clean BOH (sweep, mop, wipe down surfaces, etc.)
  • Perform deep-cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed
  • Comply with all health, hygiene, and safety regulations
  • Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Clean food prep stations and equipment
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use
  • Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety and hygiene
  • Food Prep & Kitchen Assistance:
  • Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients: vegetables, meat, cheese, etc.
Assist in making menu items such as sandwiches, salads, breakfast dishes, and baked goods (see our menu under the To Go* tab on our website: www.themodernkitchenandbar.com)
  • Set up and break down stations; follow recipes and plating instructions accurately
  • Portion control and minimize food waste to keep costs in line
  • Restock, rotate, and properly store food and ingredients
  • Ensure quality, freshness, and food safety in all prep and service tasks
  • Assist in transporting prepped items daily from our 3rd-floor prep kitchen to our 1st-floor service kitchen
  • Support kitchen during regular hours and catering events as needed
  • Experience:
  • 1-3 years restaurant or kitchen experience preferred
  • Solid knife skills and understanding of prep/cooking techniques
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Qualities:
  • Hardworking, honest, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Takes direction well, communicates respectfully, and stays calm under pressure
  • Able to multitask efficiently and maintain a clean, organized station
  • Comfortable with slow and fast-paced environments, shifting tasks and keeping busy.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand for 8+ hours
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable bending, stretching, reaching, stooping and moving quickly throughout shift
  • Additional:
  • Valid Food Handlers Card/Certificate required
  • No drugs, no alcohol, no egos, and limited phone use during shifts
