The Director of Curriculum and Instruction serves as a key instructional leader responsible for shaping and sustaining a high-achieving academic culture that reflects the school’s mission, vision, and strategic direction. This individual leads the development, alignment, and implementation of rigorous curriculum and assessments while supporting teacher growth through ongoing professional development and coaching.


  • Academic Culture
  • Monitor and sustain a school culture of academic rigor through clear expectations for students, families, faculty, and administrators.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Curriculum and Standards Alignment
  • Lead the implementation of academic standards, benchmarks, assessments, and curricula aligned with state and national standards.
  • Ensure vertical alignment of curriculum across all grade levels and subject areas for coherence and continuity.
  • Assessment Coordination
  • Coordinate the administration, logistics, and analysis of all internal and external standardized assessments.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional adjustments and drive academic improvement.
  • Instructional Leadership
  • Observe and support teachers on a daily basis, providing detailed written and oral feedback to promote instructional excellence.
  • Coach teachers using data and evidence-based strategies to meet individual and group learning needs.
  • Professional Development
  • Design, plan, and facilitate high-impact professional development sessions tailored to teacher and school-wide instructional needs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration among educators.
  • Data-Informed Decision Making
  • Analyze academic performance data to identify trends, inform instruction, and support student achievement.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop interventions and enrichment opportunities based on student performance.


Qualifications


  • A valid New Jersey Principal or School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
  • Master�s Degree
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching with demonstrated exemplary student results
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional leadership capacities (i.e. department-level leadership, assistant principal, academic dean)
  • Strong literacy background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Results-driven, with experience using data and assessments to drive instruction
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching and curriculum development
  • Experience coaching, leading and managing teachers
  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards in all core subjects
  • Openness to feedback, willingness to take personal responsibility, and a desire to learn from others


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $89,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
