Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and in-home care environments. Your commitment to patient care and ability to assist with daily living activities will make a significant impact on the lives of those you serve.


Duties


  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and dementia.
  • Administer medications as per care plans and maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal growth.
  • Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic living environment.
  • Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, including the use of Hoyer lifts for mobility support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life for clients.


Qualifications


  • Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or long-term care environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, vital signs assessment, and medication administration.
  • Experience working in group homes or assisted living settings is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Compassionate attitude towards individuals with disabilities and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including heavy lifting when required.

Job Type: Part-time


Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour


Expected hours: No less than 2 per week
