Dietary Aide is responsible for proper sanitation procedures for dishes, utensils and work area. Helps serve meals under supervision and guidance of cook and/or Dietary Manager. Dietary Aide will assist in preparation of some food items, such as toast and beverages for meal service, sets up trays for service of food, helps in service of trays to residents. Removes soiled dishes from tables and counter tops, operates dishwashing machine. Scrubs and cleans floors in kitchen. Performs other cleaning duties listed on the cleaning schedule to be completed before leaving duty assignment.

The following are essential functions for the Dietary Aide position:

• Removes soiled dishes from pervious shifts that were leftover.
  
• Prepares/provides ice water according to establish procedure.
  
• Refills salt, pepper and sugar shakers whenever necessary.
  
• Prepares milk pitchers and cold juices.
  
• Helps serve meals.
  
• Fills drink glasses for meal service.
  
• Cleans off counters, picks up dishes and utensils and cleans table tops.
  
• Returns soiled dishes and utensils to kitchen and loads dishwashing machine.
  
• Picks up paper and trash from floor.
  
• Replaces paper napkins in drawer, checks and replenishes supply of trash can liners.
  
• Sanitize all work areas at least every two hours.
  
• Check supply of coffee cups at service window and replenish when needed.
  
• Check windows, ledges, sills, refrigerator, milk cooler, ice machine, coffee urn and tables for cleanliness. Follow cleaning schedule by checking each day for job assignment in routine cleaning.
  
• Ability to maintain a pleasant attitude towards residents, staff, visitors and co-workers.
  
• Willing to develop self toward better performance and changing work habits as position demands.
  
• Respect Residents Rights and comply with Adult Abuse Policy.
  

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
