Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team and work in our newly built shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel truck repair and maintenance, with experience in heavy equipment and automotive diagnostics. This role involves working on a variety of vehicles and equipment, primarily garbage trucks, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues and performing repairs


Duties


  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment for repair tasks
  • Perform maintenance and repairs both in the shop and out on the road if needed
  • Perform regular maintenance on vehicles including oil changes, tire changes, and brake replacement
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on garbage trucks, including electrical, hydraulic, and air systems for the garbage bodies
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to transmissions, air brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Adhere to safety protocols while operating equipment and performing repairs


Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role in automotive or heavy equipment repair
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and schematics for troubleshooting purposes
  • Experience with various types of heavy machinery including severe service heavy-duty trucks
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for equipment repair tasks
  • Knowledge of electrical systems is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and agreeable demeanor

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour


Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
