Diesel Mechanic

Madsen Construction, Inc. is a family-owned concrete construction company located in Rock Springs, WY. We specialize in concrete construction in the mining, industrial, oil/gas, infrastructure, and commercial industries. We are seeking individuals who are highly organized, have a strong attention to detail, possess excellent customer service skills and who work well in a team.

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for assisting the lead mechanic in the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing our fleet of trucks, trailers, equipment, and heavy machinery.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles.
  
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to inspect, repair, and replace faulty parts.
  
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
  
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
  
• Proficient in vehicle maintenance and repair techniques.
  
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
  
• Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is a plus.
  
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
  
• Experience with brake repair and industrial equipment is highly desirable.
  

• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate repairs and maintenance.
  
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  
• Good communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
