The successful applicant must have a two-year accounting degree or experience in accounting practices. Responsibilities will include payroll processing, apportioning, assisting with accounts payable, assisting with elections, passport processing and any other duties as assigned. This position works closely with the Auditor to ensure government accounting policies and internal control procedures follow legislative audit practices.
The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of office practices. Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Must be organized, detailed oriented, self-starter, follow instructions and be a team member. Ability to complete tasks accurately and on time and with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and keyboarding skills.
This position will qualify for the county’s benefit package. Starting wage is $21.30 with an increase at 6 months and 1 year.
