Role Overview:

We’re looking for a

Data Scientist (Financial Analytics) with 1-2 years of experience, ideally with a background in accounting and financial analysis. This role is critical to our growth strategy, supporting both financial reporting and pre/post-acquisition profit & loss (P&L) analysis across newly acquired locations.

You’ll help bridge the gap between legacy POS/accounting systems and our current infrastructure, supporting decision-making and identifying optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting

• Develop and maintain recurring financial reports and dashboards for leadership
  
• Analyze trends and variances in revenue, cost, and profitability across locations
  
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure reporting accuracy and alignment
  

2. Pre/Post Acquisition P&L Analysis

• Conduct detailed financial analysis comparing pre- and post-acquisition performance
  
• Normalize financials across different POS and accounting systems
  
• Highlight insights and recommendations to support strategy for operations, marketing, and leadership
  

Other Duties:

• Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and finance teams
  
• Gather and validate data from multiple systems and sources
  
• Create and present findings to stakeholders
  
• Assist in standardizing data formats and integrating disparate systems
  

Required:

• 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, financial analytics, or accounting
  
• Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)
  
• Solid understanding of financial statements, especially P&L
  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases
  
• Experience analyzing data across multiple accounting systems
  
• Exposure to M&A or post-acquisition integration is a plus
