+ High school diploma or GED required
+ At least 5 years’ successful experience working with students in a behavioral support role or similar experience
+ Effective communication skills required - including written, verbal and conflict resolution proficiency
+ Ability to work with students, parents, state agencies, administration, and community agencies
+ Strong organizational skills and effective problem-solving skills
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
+ Managerial skills, including the ability to plan and organize program components, implementing policies and procedures, develop program priorities, and assist with recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of behavioral support staff
+ Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
+ Recruits, interviews, checks background and recommends employment of behavior managers
+ Supervises a team of behavior managers and substitute behavior managers including their completion of tasks/assignments such as data collection
+ Manages the training and professional development of behavior managers
+ Reviews and approves payroll timesheets for behavior managers and ensures appropriate absence reporting by behavior managers
+ Evaluates behavior managers on an annual basis
+ Coordinates daily behavior manager schedules, including, but not limited to, classroom coverage, Mindfulness Center assignments, bus/transportation supervision, and after-school/extended day assignments
+ Assists administration in the coordination of transportation for students
+ Assists administration in the supervision and monitoring of intervention supports to ensure fidelity of implementation
+ Reviews and approves incident reports and restraint/seclusion documentation (completes as a backup if other behavioral staff failed to complete)
+ Serves as a certified District restraint trainer and maintains training documentation for staff
+ Trains staff in de-escalation strategies and classroom management philosophy
+ Collaborates with BCBA, School Counselor, School Psychologists, School Social Workers, teachers, and administration in the creation, modification, and implementation of behavior plans
+ Assists staff in de-escalation of students in crisis situations
+ Collects data relative to classroom management, school climate, or other areas as requested by administration
+ Maintains active relationship with students, parents, and guardians
+ Utilizes a restorative approach when engaged in conflict resolution
+ Oversees proper use and maintenance of video cameras, walkie talkies, ear pieces and communicates with vendors to ensure proper functioning of equipment
+ Assumes such other functions as may be determined by supervisor/administrator
