The OT Controls Engineer/Inspector is responsible for working independently to support, inspect, and ensure the secure and reliable operation of Facility-Related Control Systems (FRCS) and other Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. This role focuses on both technical oversight and cybersecurity assurance, with close coordination alongside system owners, integrators, and RMF cybersecurity personnel. Key responsibilities include overseeing the configuration, performance, and security posture of FRCS components such as PLCs, HMIs, industrial servers, and control networks. The Engineer will proactively inspect and verify system baselines, perform configuration and patch validation, assess system availability and uptime, and ensure adherence to approved cybersecurity and engineering standards. The OT Controls Engineer/Inspector will identify and investigate abnormal system behavior, control loop issues, or unauthorized modifications, while maintaining detailed documentation of findings, deviations, and recommended corrective actions. The role requires regular collaboration with cybersecurity assessment teams and program managers, contributing to technical reports and client deliverables that document system integrity, performance, and any cybersecurity vulnerabilities with potential operational or mission impacts. The Engineer is also responsible for assisting in the development and validation of test plans, inspecting installed systems against design drawings and functional specifications, and ensuring integration of cybersecurity controls within engineering constraints.
