Sebeco Motorsport is a race car manufacturer based in Plainfield, Indiana. We design and build high-performance race cars for competition across the U.S., with a strong focus on endurance racing, particularly within the World Racing League (WRL). Our mission is to deliver reliable, well-engineered vehicles that help our customers succeed at every level of the sport. The Controller will be responsible for the full scope of accounting and financial management for Sebeco Motorsport and Stratus Racing. This includes managing one to two bookkeepers who handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, overseeing multi-entity accounting, handling multi-state sales taxation, managing inventory and R&D accounting, and overseeing sales revenue from both vehicle builds and parts sales. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and is comfortable wearing many hats.

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.
  
• Supervise and bookkeeper(s), ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting operations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  
• Track prepaid inventory purchases and customer deposits
  
• Maintain and account for long-term R&D projects and capitalized costs.
  
• Manage revenue recognition for both car and parts sales.
  
• Oversee payroll processing and payroll tax payments
  
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for external tax preparers
  
• Assemble budgets and forecasts for management review
  
• Monitor cash flows and manage inventory department�s purchase requisitions
  
• Work with external CPAs, tax advisors, and auditors as needed.
  
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
  

• Bachelor�s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
  
• 5+ years of accounting/financial management experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-entity environments.
  
• Experience supervising accounting staff or bookkeepers.
  
• Strong knowledge of AP/AR processes.
  
• Experience with multi-state taxation and sales tax compliance.
  
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and prepaid purchase tracking.
  
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel
  
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments.
  

• Experience in motorsports, automotive manufacturing, or racing team operations.
  
• Proficiency with SOS Inventory Management and Shopify
  
• Understanding of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  
• Ability to manage finances for both product-based and service/event-based revenue streams.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
