Transportation Technician II position with Region Two's Construction Crew 2753. This is a very important position that is part of a team that oversees/is involved with the construction and maintenance of state roads and Keeps Utah Moving as safely and efficiently as possible.As a Transportation Technician in construction, you will perform inspection activities related to work performed by contractors, test roadway materials, and use various software to administer construction projects. To ensure operational readiness, you will also work in maintenance, operating heavy equipment from snowplows to backhoes to maintain the roads, inspecting and testing materials placed, and using software to manager the department's assets. After 18 months, each Transportation Technician is expected to cross-train in various construction areas. You will perform the following:* Assisting with the inspection and documentation of UDOT construction projects.
+ Removing snow from state roadways using snowplows/graders/blowers, etc.
+ Performing general maintenance on equipment.
