Today, with hundreds of employees throughout Arizona and Nevada, Roadrunner is one of the Southwest’s major drywall companies. The couple will tell you the business was built on their reputation for honesty and hard work.


Today, Roadrunner Drywall markets include single-family, multifamily and custom homes with major developers and homebuilders in Arizona and Nevada, drywall and paint. Roadrunner Drywall works with large regional and national homebuilders. The team has numerous ongoing single-family home projects with these important business partners. Roadrunner Drywall also partners with developers and property managers for installation work in the multifamily residential market.


Job description:


The Safety Director will plan, direct, and implement the organization’s safety programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally, or through subordinates and field supervisors. The Safety Director will work with Executive Management, company and builder Superintendents to establish and maintain a strong safety culture.


Essential Functions


· Leads the development and communication of the company’s safety vision, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.


· Implement and maintain a program that ensures a safe workplace, including but not limited to safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, hazardous material disposal procedures, and proper use of protective equipment.


· Provides proactive leadership and accepts ownership of maintaining a safe environment by:


  • anticipate problems & provide solutions


  • sharing knowledge and training, to all levels of management


  • interacting with field crews, subcontractors and builder superintendents.


  • creating an environment of learning, mentoring, and empowerment to promote employee engagement


· Leads incident investigations to determine the cause and to correct all incidents.


· Performs site safety audits frequently to detect existing or potential hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.


· Works with HR to facilitate the return-to-work and workers’ compensation programs.


· Works with Fleet Manager to ensure vehicle safety protocols are implemented and followed.


· Maintains safety files and records, including the builder's and company’s safety certifications.


Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate the ability to perform the job's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities; being proactive for a safe environment; resolve all incidents in a timely manner.


· 10 years of relevant construction safety experience will be considered instead of formal education. Experience with a self-performing general contractor or specialty contractor is preferable.


· In-depth technical knowledge of construction-related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices.


· Experience in training and management are desirable.


· Must be an effective communicator, generating professional written material and delivering effective verbal presentations.


· Proficient with iOS; Windows OS and Microsoft 365.


Experience/Education


· Osha Certs:


-10/30 cert


-Certified Occupational Safety Specialist


-Certified Safety and Health Official


· 5 - 15 years of experience


· CPR Certified


Physical Requirements


· Participate and/or lead in meetings, seminars, and training sessions.


· Seeing and observing at close proximity and at a distance in observing and making visual assessments at job sites.


· Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.


· Job involves exposure to all weather conditions for extended periods including hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions as well as exposure to high noise levels and working in elevated or excavated areas. Job sites typically will include uneven surfaces and may require climbing ladders and scaffolding to review site safety equipment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
