The National Park Service is rehabilitating several historic bathhouses in downtown Hot Springs, AR. This part-time CM role supports daily oversight of construction activities while helping maintain operational continuity in a busy national park environment.
We are seeking a
Part-Time Construction Manager (CMR #2) to support on-site QA, documentation, and technical reviews. The CMR #2 will assist the lead CMR #1 and step in when coverage is needed. The role includes both fieldwork and technical project administration.- Perform site inspections and document work quality, progress, and safety.
- Review RFIs, submittals, and contractor communications through Project Team.
- Draft correspondence and prepare supporting documentation for COR review.
- Provide support on cost proposals, modifications, and schedule coordination.
- Maintain punch lists and participate in critical inspections and testing.
- Serve as backup to CMR #1 when needed (must be pre-approved by COR).
- 3+ years experience in construction management, QA, or inspection.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (required).
- NAVFAC/USACE CQC Certification or PMP (preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software.
- Familiarity with federal contract administration and historic projects a plus.
- Base Term: 20 hrs/week, ~487 days (Oct 2025 - Jan 2027)
- Option 1: Additional 7.5 months (Oct 2025 - May 2026) for HVAC scope
- Option 2: Additional 5.5 months (May - Oct 2026) for roofing scope
- Option 3: 6-month extension (Feb - Jul 2027) if full project duration is extended
- Must be on-site at least 2-3 days/week; some early-phase remote work allowed.
- Physically capable of performing inspections in active construction zones.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent technical writing ability.
Hourly Pay $50-$70
