Horizon Engineering, LLC is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our rapidly growing team. We are looking for a hardworking, highly motivated individual that takes the initiative, is willing to learn new things, is a team player, has attention to detail, and enjoys overseeing construction.


You will be responsible for performing construction quality assurance inspections for civil, structural, and environmental engineering projects. We provide civil, structural, and environmental engineering services from conceptual planning through construction. Qualifications


  • Inspection certifications from state DOTs or professional organizations, such as ACI, are preferred.
  • Proficiency in common construction management software is preferred, such as HeadLight, SiteManager, and Procore.
  • Knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel construction inspection requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local/state construction requirements is preferred.


Compensation and Benefits


  • Approximate hourly rate range is $30 to $50 per hour for regular time, with additional compensation for overtime. Compensation is negotiable and will be commensurate with expertise, experience, and qualifications.

General Responsibilities


  • Inspect the construction of public and private infrastructure, such as roads, drainage, utilities, drainage pump stations, sewer lift stations, site development, water and wastewater treatment, intelligent transportation systems, bridges, buildings, maritime structures, and flood protection.
  • Measure completed work to obtain quantities and determine whether it conforms to the plans and specifications.
  • Sample and/or test construction materials.
  • Prepare construction documentation using construction management software.
